Donor Feature: Lora Lee Curtiss

Born on October 4, 1930, Lora Lee was the third of seven children. After completing a teaching degree, she became a first grade teacher and taught in schools in Duluth and Virginia, MN and Colorado Springs, CO. She retired from this role in 1991, after teaching for 39 years.

Apart from being a teacher, Lora Lee is also a published author. She has written seven books - a picture book, three historical novels for children and two books for adults. Alongside writing, she often enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to casinos and spending time with family.

Lora Lee had a spirit of wanting to give “while my eyes were open” and was an anonymous donor for many initiatives in her community. She was a huge donor for Grace Children’s Hospital, via the the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Lora Lee believed in sharing what she had. We will always honor and be grateful for her immense generosity.
